I think this was posted earlier in the thread, but I suppose it's worth another shot:xcrunner;1064278; said:Yep. At least good ol' Lllllloyd was, in general, a good man, who had good values and ethics. He was really quite similar to Tressel in all aspects out of football. He wanted his players to graduate, he developed close relationships with his players outside of football and was genuinely interested in their lives. It made it hard to hate him.
I doubt we'll have that problem with DickRod.
After two full team meetings, players already are starting to understand their direct coach means what he says.
Rodriguez told them at the first meeting that they would be accountable for their lives on and off the field.
So how did he ensure that? Home visits by the coaching staff.
"You find out a lot about a guy," Rodriguez said. "They're probably cleaning it up for us, but they're going to their place of residence to talk to them and get to know them a little bit.
"Some are surprised, some aren't. That's good, especially when you have half your team living off campus. It's good for the old ball coaches to come by."

A-MAIZING CHANGE: Rodriguez is aggressive, blunt and demanding in his first days
Seems unfair to portray Rodriguez as the cold, slimy, self-interested loser uninterested in his players.

Pay attention to who and what I quoted.sandgk;1064287; said:
so Dick Wadriguez makes some early house calls on TSUN's players he is now no longer to be held to account for the manner of his departure from WVU?
Laughable. Just straight out fucking laughable.

Um, can you honestly say that any one of us can view this objectively?CausticMick;1064292; said:Come on, move forward. Your homerism doesn't do you much good for the sake of your "argument."

That's exactly what he did. Called a meeting and told them.Wingate1217;1064296; said:You made a point that "What was he supposed to do visit all his players (WVU) to tell them? He has no problem with visiting all the Michigan players in their home. While not practical, you STILL owe to your players who you have spent time their parent's homes and looked them in the eye promised them that you would take care of them (like he was my own son) while they are away at school. I don't blame the guy for leaving WVU but please you either delay your announcement and call Pryor immediatley after or you schedule a meeting and tell the majority of your players as soon as you can get them together.
