Rich Rodriguez (official thread of last laughs)

In print:
Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez has been fired

Rodriguez, who coached three seasons and went 15-22 overall and 6-18 in the Big Ten and has been the subject of controversy during his tenure, was fired Wednesday by Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon, according to a source with knowledge of the meeting.

Brandon and Rodriguez met Tuesday afternoon, three days after the Wolverines' worst bowl loss in history, 52-14 in the New Year's Day Gator Bowl against Mississippi State.
Rodriguez likely will receive a $2.5 million buyout from Michigan, which dropped from $4 million on Jan. 1.
Michigan lost its final three games of the season, and Rodriguez was 0-3 against in-state rival Michigan State and 0-3 against rival Ohio State. The Wolverines' 3-9 record his first season in 2008 was the program's first losing record since 1967.

Yes. Yes he is. An unemployed ass.

So, anybody think UConn makes a run at him? I actually think that's the kind of place he fits best. Weak conference, lower expectations...

Probably not a bad fit at UConn, as I agree with your last two remarks especially. And... UConn fans probably won't care that they will never be able to beat TCU.

OK, now for the eneviable action when a coach is fired just before the LOI signing date: Does Michigan have any commitments that we would want; and if so, can we steal them?
