Re: If Brandon and school officials decide to fire Rodriguez without cause before 2011, it would cost $4 million. On Jan. 1, the buyout drops to $2.5 million.

Nothing will happen until after Jan 1.

This has been posted in the thread and discussed in multiple posts. And I pointed out that his contract requires 30 days notice prior to termination, which means they could give him notice later this week (Thursday, or more likely on Friday) and have him coach in a Jan 1 Bowl game, and then be terminated imediately afterwards while saving the $1.5 million.

I'm not sure if they would try to give him written notice but try to keep it from becoming public knowledge. That would seem difficult to pull off these days.

Why would they fire me?

They wanted a winning record, got one!
They wanted wins against Rivals, well nothing says Rival like Notre Dame!
Bowl Game, check!

Plus, look at all these records I am breaking!

If you ask me, I deserve a raise....

And an extension...

and a cookie.

Wait a minute, they guaranteed 30 days notice to a man who upon leaving his last job shredded a bunch of documents relating to the team?

He only had a couple days to do it before. He's petty and emotional - just imagine how much he can shred in 30 days! Dude is going to fill his double-wide with about $1.5 million in stolen office supplies in those 30 days, and in the meantime they're spinning their wheels trying to recruit with a lame duck coach. Good going.

I find it unbelievable that you still can find so much support for RR on UM blogs. We're talking about a guy that, three years in, goes 3-5 in the Big Ten and gets trounced by everything even remotely resembling a decent football team on UM's schedule. UM's 3 Big Ten wins came against teams that went a collective 7-17 in conference.

There are a few Mountaineer fans who would welcome him back to WVU.
