No, coached. Bo started in 1969. Coached till, if I remember right, 1989. 21 years. That he stayed on at an honorary position is another matter. Carr coached at UM for 28 years.

The difference between potentially and actually:

When Jthorp24 was a kid he came home from school and asked his dad what the difference was between potentially and actually. His dad told him to go ask his mom and his older sister if they would sleep with the entire OSU football team for 1 million dollars. Confused (as usual) the boy went and asked the questions.

"Already did but I'd do it again for half that" said his mother. "I'd do it for free" claimed his sister.

Jthorpe24 dutifully reported the answers to his father who then explained; "Potentially your mom and sister are both millionaires. Actually they are just a couple of cheap sluts."

You'd think that lesson would have stuck with the young man a little longer but he was always quite dim.

He may not have won a national title and had a 5-12 bowl record. But check this out

He finished in the top 10 his first 10 seasons at Michigan. His worst conference record during his first 10 seasons was 6-1. He had 17 top 10 finishes in his 21 seasons at Michigan. 13 conference championships in 21 seasons. Won 79% of his games at Michigan. 84% in conference play. He was 11-9-1 against Ohio St including one of the greatest upsets of all time in 1969.

He had a lot of chances to get a national title. He had 13 seasons where the Wolverines had 2 loses or less. He and his Wolverines were far from losers from 1969-1989.

Well hell so did Cooper.

So, lemme do the math:

Cooper = Bo
Cooper > Tressel
therfore, Tressel > Bo

Yay, that was fun.

You and I both know that Cooper is not even on the same planet as Bo when it comes to coaching. Any sensible buckeye fan should know that. Cooper > Tressel? Yeah........I think you made a mistake.

Heh, yeah, a VERY BIG mistake.

As far as this RichRod thing goes, it couldn't happen to a better team. What a terrific football season, and there's still 4 hours until the opening kickoff. Michigan BLOWS!!! They'll be lucky to put together a 4 win season thsi year, and RichRod's replacement is going to be scrambling for recruits for the next 2-3 years in order to get them back to respectable. So, they HAD the longest bowl strike... How long will their non-bowl streak be? I'm bettering over 2 years. Losers.

Opening game week in AA:

U-M investigation outcome hard to predict
Gregg Krupa / The Detroit News

Independent investigators, in cooperation with NCAA enforcement officials, scurried around the University of Michigan this week.

They were securing evidence in the probe of the football program, lining up face-to-face interviews with current and past players, coaches and athletic administrators and obtaining files and correspondences among university and athletic officials involved in one of the most-storied programs in the history of college football.

The efforts are the routine, early steps in any probe of alleged NCAA violations, according to participants in similar investigations. They say the work, like investigations by law enforcement, can be complex, exacting, tedious and utterly unpredictable.

"What they are doing is basically securing all of the evidence they can, as quickly as they can," said Michael Buckner, a Florida lawyer who assists universities in such investigations. "They are locating at any and all of the former players who played under coach Rodriguez at Michigan, and setting up interviews.

Michigan's reputation is one of pursuing evidence of wrongdoing without fear or favor, in cooperation with the NCAA, and participants in past investigations say the university is off to a strong start.
They must have missed the Fab 5 investigation.

For Wolverines (i.e., RR), only a blowout will suffice

No investigation required for validating this fact: Western Michigan is a must-win for Rich Rodriguez.

Correct that. It's a must-blowout win for Rich Rodriguez.

It's amazing how far Michigan's program has fallen on the national radar. It was only three Novembers ago when the Wolverines were three points shy of advancing to the BCS championship game. Now it would be considered a sign of progress should they avoid their second straight loss to a Mid-American Conference opponent.

Michigan folks are mad, but that anger, in part, is rooted in fear. Those who screamed the loudest for change suddenly become the most apprehensive when they see how dramatic and possibly disastrous "change" looks. It's that uncertainty in something different that spawns the fear.

That's why a simple victory in this afternoon's opener won't do.

Rodriguez needs a three-touchdown romp that, at least momentarily, will restore memories of a time when Michigan Stadium intimidated visitors. That hasn't been the case the past two seasons.
