Rich Rodriguez (official thread of last laughs)

HTM is illustrating the principle of optimum stimulation level.

When they were beating us during the Cooper interlude, they weren't stimulated enough. Suddenly, we weren't TSUN's biggest rival. They felt sorry for us because we only had them and they had Notre Dame and Michigan State.

Now, they are on a hiding to nothing and, in their heart of hearts, they fear that RR will only make things worse. Now, we're not their only rival and they feel a bit sorry for us because we only have them.

Look for this kind of talk to increase because TSUN is going to expose its fans to some real stress this year.

start the vbookie.
How about a sig bet instead?
i am all in for a 13-0 season.
Talk about unfair expectations. RR pulling off 8 wins this season will be a success... not beyond his reach but still challenging.
those who stayed will be champions.
They weren't while coached by the man who coined that phrase (spanning 3 decades, no less). While a "NC or bust" mentality deprives one of too much in CFB (like those who consider 07 a bad season for OSU), it seems to be your approach. Good luck with that.

Maybe Clarity should wager our BP donations and let MaizeandBlue pay our way for a while... :p

Do you think he could cover it?

Do you think we should ask his parents to raise his allowance?

NICE GUYS CAN WIN

New University of Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez knows that he is bringing a reputation with him to Ann Arbor.
The word on the former West Virginia coach is this: He's a nice guy off the field, but he's a bulldog on it.
Rodriguez proved the former on Monday when he participated in the annual Alro Steel University of Michigan Golf Day at the Country Club of Jackson. He constantly smiled, shook hands with all who approached him and came off as a good guy, which might come as a surprise to his new football players.

Rodriguez said his transition from West Virginia to Michigan has been smoother than many may believe. He has been involved in some legal issues with West Virginia, and in March, lineman Justin Boren left the team stating the ``family values have eroded.''
``A lot was made out of what one guy said instead of what the 99 who were staying said,'' Rodriguez said. ``The players who are still here, those are the players who matter to me.''
The last sentence continues to amaze me.

FWIW WV radio stations are reporting that a settlement is near in the contract dispute. Supposedly RR will pay (UM supporters through donations to UM will pay no doubt) $4 million with no interest, each party to pay its own legal fees and costs. Too bad - I wanted to see Rita's testimony under oath.

He may have a point - but it is nice to know it gets under his skin.
