One more point. It will not be lost on TSUN supporters that Bo made his mark by bringing a two-loss team into the Game and unseating the undefeated reigning national champions...
certainly it will not be lost on tsun supporters, but the big question here (imo) is if DRod gets it. i think not. not for the first few years, anyway...

Hat 2 - The Recruiter
Second hat has well documented question marks against it. The litany of colorful to criminal that have played for him at WVU is long enough to cause concern, not just for TSUN faithful but for the Conference as a whole.

can you expound on some of these documented questionable recruiting practices that RR uses...just curious

Cowheard is a talented radio guy; you don't get a syndicated show if you aren't... But he is one of the stupidest syndicated guys in the history of radio. Talent yes, brains not so much. Taking him seriously is a game for fools. He is as transparent as transparent can be.

I take it you don't listen to Jim Rome.

I agree with your analysis of Cowheard.

I think, having listened to the idiocy that is Jesse Palmer, he hasn't watched a football game since he was warming the bench for the Giants....

I just dont see how bringing in a scheme like the 3-3-5 and using a system that does not prepare QB's for the NFL (the "ONLY" thing DR knows) is going to help. I'm on the fence about this hire, I myself would like to see some fresh blood across the field - I mean, I'll miss having the sure feeling about beating down scUM. But its either A:he'll get rolled by tailbacks in the like that he's never seen (queue Beanie) or B: he'll end up being marginally successful his first season, much like Tressel was.

Judging by the personal tsun already has on D, coupled with the fact they'll be in a new system that traditionally doesnt handle a power-back well, I'm comfortable in going with option A.

I caught the last 10 minutes of the interview. It was very "chummy" and Ramrod really went out of his way to ingratiate himself with the Detriot/Ann Arbor media. It would have been very cute if he did not seem like he had just fallen off the turnip truck and was in full "aw-shucks" mode for the local media and alums, which are so obviously smarter than the "corn-pone" folksy Rodriguez. I wonder how long the honeymoon will last before the snobby, Michigan faux-intelligenstia start questioning the intelligence of a guy who sounds like he was repairing heating oil delivery trucks last week. Rodriguez definitely said that he would "likely" bring the 3-3-5 defense to Michigan next year. He also said, in essence, that the current Michigan coaching staff would be evaluated on a case by case basis but strongly implied that there would be some key positions going to his guys from West Virginia (who I am sure are real Mensa guys too).

A 3-3-5 will get killed in the Big Ten. Big backs are going to be picking up 4 to 6 yards a carry on them in conference play. Plus who is going to be running his spread next year? Mallett? I don't think TSUN has anyone on the roster right now who could run the spread.

I really do hope that Michigan improves under Rodriguez. It is embarrasing to the Big Ten to have Michigan go out and get rolled in every bowl game they play in. They definitely need some fresh blood. However, maybe someone should send Terelle Pryor a DVD of all the clips over the last 3 seasons of Pat White lying on his back, writhing in pain with a whole team of orthopedic surgeons and trainers with agonized, concerned looks on their faces.Maybe Mr. Pryor would be interested in seeing how coach Rod throws his QBs to the wolves against the linebacker sand safeties of the Big East. How healthy is he going to keep his QBs in the Big Ten against All-American linebackers and defensive backs.

I disagree. RR has not been a really top notch recruiter. He has got his 'system' guys to fit his offense, but has never had a player drafted while at WVU. NOT ONE, that will not fly in the Big Ten. You have to have "next level' players AT LEAST on defense if not both sides of the ball.
Say what??? Dee McCann, Pacman Jones, Chris Henry, Rasheed Marshall. To name a couple. Oh, and I bet some guys named White and Slaton make it somehow to the NFL.
