Reverend Dabo Swinney (HC Clemson Tigers - GSCS), random mid-century cars, and steroids

Clemson's Dabo Swinney again defends ranking Ohio State 11th: 'If people have a problem ... I don't really care'

Dec 20, 2020
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney on Monday again defended why he voted Ohio State No. 11 in his final Amway Coaches Poll ballot, saying, "If people have a problem with that, I don't really care. It's my poll."

Swinney, whose No. 2-seeded Tigers play No. 3 Ohio State Friday in the Sugar Bowl national semifinal, said he took his position based on the number of games teams played this year in a schedule disrupted by COVID-19 issues.

Yesterday: Pitt and No. 11 Clemson were the other teams unbeaten in ACC play entering Week 10 action. Clemson fell 33-21 against Louisville, however, and Pitt was ensnared early by SMU, which used a 24-point second quarter to take command.

Just sayin': And Dabo wishes that Clemson would still be voted #11..........

Dabo Swinney takes jab at College Football Playoff race: 'We basically have an SEC-Big Ten Invitational'

Swinney did not mince words when talking about the potential 12-team College Football Playoff field

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney made full use of his "College Football Pregame Show" appearance Saturday morning on CBS Sports HQ as he laid out his team's case for the College Football Playoff. When asked why the Tigers aren't in the same at-large conversation as other Power Four schools, notably two-loss SEC teams, Swinney was quick to point out his team's success in previous College Football Playoffs and its 8-2 record this season.

He also took a quick swipe at a potentially loaded field of SEC and Big Ten teams.

"We've scheduled tough," Swinney said. "All you can do is play the schedule that you have. It is what it is. We basically have an SEC-Big Ten Invitational. That's really what we've got in college football. So you just got to focus on what you got."
