This is the equivalent of “my dick isn’t going to suck itself”, and it will probably work. :roll1:

True story. In 1979 I bought a 1969 Pontiac Bonneville. The thing was in perfect condition. It was purple, with a black vinyl top and red crushed velvet interior. Thing was 1 1/2 lanes wide, chrome all around and drank about 2 gallons of gas sitting in the driveway overnight. Had every option that GM offered when it was built. It was a tank and a world class road floater. Best damn car I ever owned. And yes, it even had those rear fender skirts! Not mine obviously, but just imagine this car in GM purple. For those who might not remember, this is what a classic Highway Ocean Liner looked like!

Since we're reminiscing, I'm reminded of the years when I worked for a GM component plant and select employees got to drive cars so that we could "collect performance data". Lucky was the person who got to cruise in the Chevette diesel. (Looking stats at now it had a 51HP engine.) I remember you could hear it coming...

A friend of mine had a Chevette in that same monkey shit brown. He told girls that he had a Vette.

My first car was a 65 Buick Wildcat. The owners manual said it was a luxury sports car.

A friend of mine also had a Vette. My mom once said something about not being worried when I was with him because she doubted the car could go fast enough to cause harm to the passengers in an accident.

What a colossal POS.

Oh my. First car Daddy bought for my use was a 55 Chevy two-ten four door. Next came a 56 Chevy station wagon. Caught a lot of trash talk about driving a married mans car from people who didn’t realize you could fold both back seats down and make a spacious romper room. One of my several sophomore/junior years I came home to find a green 61 VW bug waiting on me. Maybe the old man noticed that that while home on summer break I preferred to take the station wagon to the drive-in instead of his Impala and put two and two together. My first car with my money was a 67 Camaro, black with white bumble bee stripping and cherry red interior. Sold it when I left for Vietnam. Loved that car. Mostly owned old man cars after that until I got a new 95 Miata. Then a four year old Audi A 6. Loved both.

Bet you wish you still had that Camero!
