Rushing D is something to crow about.

Add one more positive note - our offense has inched up to 58th.
Still need more work on the passing game.

Although we all love to see our teams in good positions statistically...

<TABLE class=statstable><TBODY><TR><TD>Scoring Defense </TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD>Nebraska </TD><TD>5.33</TD><TD align=middle>1</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

that just shows how early it is and how much things can change, no way in hell will Nebraska be in even the top 10 by season's end in scoring D.

Two stats not mentioned that are incredibly important and impressive to me are:

Offense 3rd-down efficiency: Rank 10th, Attempts 62, Conversions 33, Percentage 53.2
Defense 3rd-down efficiency: Rank 16th, Attempts 53, Conversions 14, Percentage 26.4

Good call, BiM. Looking at the new rankings, that Minny game is looming larger than just about any of us thought it would. Presuming the Gophers win at Happy Valley next weekend, they could be Top 15 by the time the Bucks roll into the Twin Cities.

Our LBs versus their stable of RBs should be one of the better games of the year.
