talent is what it used to be compared to what era?

I also don't know how you can compare any team to the teams of the Wooden era. Those teams were very special. Extremely well coached, very athletic, and all goods ball handlers. Defensively, they were also very good. I don't know if there will be a team in college basketball history to compare against that era. Now or for years to come.

floridas gaurds won that game...

I agree that their guards won the game but only to the extent that they shot the ball much better
he has. but he cant beat you with his shot. florida schmed to leave conley open on rotations as weve seen all year. its one of the reasons that conley is so effective penetrating. you saw him drive more within the system as teams started playing him this way. like i said im shocked no one tried to black him all year.

This is the one area where 40 and I have been in total disagreement this b ball season. I do not think that Conley has a very good shot from the outside that he can hit on a consistent basis. I guess when I say consistent I'm talking about 35%. He is an OK outside shooter if he is set but I do not think that he has a good outside shot off of the dribble and I am really not that sure if he is a good catch and shoot guy. He is OK if he is left alone and has some time but otherwise I think is outside shooting is one of his biggest drawbacks. It is one of the reasons why I do not think he is NBA ready. In the NBA, he will not be able to take the ball to the basket like he has this past season because they will guard him better or they hammer him once he gets there. I do not understand the phrase "black him". Is that some way of defending a PG? I have never heard of that terminology used before.

and im not backing down from florida being the qucker team, much quicker..
The fact that you were there certainly does give you a better perspective on who was the quicker team. Hopefully, you are not just basing that on our bad transition defense.

This is what I was somewhat referring to, but b4 you never had guys go straight from high school to pro, and you had guys stay longer, for instance 15 years ago guys like Durant and Oden are looking at 2 years of college if not more, we were lucky to see them one year b/c without the rule those guys go straight to the NBA...I mean just look at the what if tournament that could of been if some of these guys in that are in the NBA sitting at the end of the bench could still be in college...The game as a whole would be much better, not taking anything away from florida, but you have teams that never even won championships that are better than this florida team.

My feelings exactly...

Lets first put into perspective that Mike really didnt take a whole lot of jumpers...He only takes them within the offense, but if left alone and given time he will knock them down...He is not a catch and shoot guy and that is not what you look for in a PG, you want a guy that can attack the defense break it down and score if need be, and get the ball to the guys in the right position to score...As for his jumper he gets good rotation on it and has good form...It is just a matter of time b4 teams keep letting him have that jumper and he is hitting them at 40%...Maybe I am looking more at his potential jumper than what is there, but if I am guarding him there is no way that I am giving him open looks, like you guys would...

Tell Mike Brown he doesn't need to get a point guard who can shoot from the outside. Oh My!:wink2:

Totally different...Eric Snow can't hit a 12 foot jumper to save his life and can't get into the lane to save his life...

Tony Parker isnt a great shooter, but he has the ability to be a great PG...It is not all about how great you shoot it, but at the PG it is about picking and choosing your spots, and just being smart, but when a team can just ignore you completely on the offensive end then there is a problem...

like i said about how i got my tickets.... it was a d1 coach... we both with almost the exact same view of the game and of players. though i promised myself in the champ game that i was going to watch it as a fan... though it didnt turn out that way i tried my best... thats why i didnt try and break the game down.
