There has never been any doubt in my mind he'd be a force of nature once he got on base. I still question how frequently he can do that.

If he can give a league average .330 or so he's a weapon.

MLB Tonight just did a side-by-side of Hamilton's triple with Deion back when he came up with Atlanta. Deion was running on Astroturf with the minimal slidepits around the bags. Hamilton slid into third base under 10.2. Primetime was in mid slide and still over a foot away from the bag.

I could see that being the average for leadoff hitters maybe, and for OBP .330 is pretty meh when it comes to that position in the order (you want .350 or higher)....

That was a pretty remarkable run scored. I doubt many people have stolen a base on Yadier Molina so easily that he literally doesn't consider making a throw. And then taking third on a shallow fly ball. And then going home on basically a pop up.

Rickey Henderson would do things like that and they called it a Rickey run b/c no one else could do it. That was a Billy run.
