Reds tidbits 2014 (official thread of windshield licking)

Any time the Reds sign a guy long term and for a big contract, you can kiss them goodbye. Dead and buried or below .250 BA for the rest of their careers.

Meanwhile they're getting swept in New York because they can't hit, yet again.

FWIW, rumors.....
Cincinnati is going to be without second baseman Brandon Phillips (thumb) and first baseman Joey Votto (quad) for another month at least, so to stay in contention in a crowded National League Central race upgrades will probably have to be made at the July 31 deadline. And the hunt has already begun.

Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com reports that the Reds have expressed interest in acquiring outfielder Marlon Byrd and left-handed reliever Antonio Bastardo from the Phillies, who are expected to be one of the most active sellers later this month.

Just think Walt, you could have had Byrd last year off the waiver wire. You missed it in the midst of your slumber, the pirates grabbed him and he shoved it up your ass in the play in game. Now you are going to give up actual talent for him after he's already turned back into a pumpkin.

Well fucking done my man, well done.

That rafter jarring THUD you just heard was the Reds face planting out of the AS break and simultaneously ending what was the competitive stage of the 2014 season.

Now we move on to Weekend At Bernie's 19 aka Walt earning his fucking paycheck.

Wake up and trade some of this deadwood you worthless cocksucker. You signed most of it.

Hell--with Byrd hitting .265 with 19 HRs and 57 RBIs this year, those limp[censored]s in the Reds clubhouse will think Babe [censored] Ruth just joined the team.

Simon will never have more value than he has right now. He's pitching so far over his head it's fuckingrediculous.

Instead of selling high Walt will sign him up for one of his famous 2 year black hole deals.

Per MLBTR

The Mariners made a formal offer to the Rockies for Stubbs earlier this week, according to Nick Groke of the Denver Post. Groke, like Morosi and Harding, hears that the Rockies aren’t actively looking to deal Stubbs.

Who is more foolish, the man who wants to trade for Drew Stubbs or the man who already did trade for him and won't sell him to the first offer that comes along?

Tough call
