Not just that, but who pitches in extra innings for these teams? You have to presume that anybody who comes on to pitch in extra innings will be unavailable for the second game. You can't really afford to bring on a starter since it would put somebody on short rest during a stretch with no off days, plus you might burn a pitcher on a game that could go long when it could end after just one extra inning.

I think the Reds would be smart to just send Hoover out there in the 10th and just get the damn thing over with.

This is where I wish Leake was a long reliever instead of a starter. He could go in the end of this first game and not be killed for a start. If Cingrani does better than Leake, I say leave him up here I don't care about arbitration.

If he is obviously still lacking in the breaking ball department, they have to go out and make a trade. They can't go the whole season without a pitcher in the backend of the rotation and fall short of relief every week because they can't fucking hit.

Wow. Mesoraco is tearing the cover off. Be nice to see him keep this going for a while. And then a great job of baserunning on Leake's second hit. Duhsty sick again? They are acting like baseball players tonight.

Jeebus. This is exactly why these guys piss us off. Tonight every single one of these fuckers is on point. All but Votto, who looks stupid right now.

Then the next week they won't match all of this production from one game.
