Reds Tidbits (2013 Season)

Someone find Walt and wake him up. Then tell him its time to blow it up. Fire Dusty, trade Votto and Phillips, get what you can and start over.

This team as its constructed will never win a goddamn thing.

We are paying Joey Votto superstar money, and he's driven in 64 runs. Obviously he has an incredibly high OBP and a lot of runs scored, but here are some 1B who have driven in more runs than Joe: Brandon Moss, Chris Carter (not tOSU d lineman), and Justin Morneau (who the pirates just acquired for peanuts)

The problem is not Votto's 64 RBI, as has been repeated ad nauseum. He cannot drive in Choo every plate appearance by himself, since the 2-hole was a blackhole for 2/3rds of the season there's no RBI opportunities there.

The problem is that Votto is in a slump since the whole 'he doesn't drive in enough runs' discussion started back in early August. He was hitting .325 coming out of the Padres series and now he's down to .301. Either he's hurt or he's screwed up his approach, but something is definitely wrong because he's had some feeble ABs lately.

Votto couldnt catch up with even 96/97 heat last night something has to be going on in his head too, between his base running gaffes and some brain cramps in the field I wonder what the hell he's thinking about. When was the last time Heisey got a meaningful hit, or even a meaningful at bat. He is the second coming of Stubbs when he comes up with anyone on base. He should be done for the year just based upon his decision to bunt with Choo on third and two outs last night WTF.

Even when they win it feels like a loss. Dominated the Cards for 3 out of 4 but the clusterfuck of bad throws, bad baserunning, and ill advised bunts in extra innings last night is still gnawing at me. Should've swept those whiney bitches.

Worst middle of the order lineup in baseball and I don't think it's close.

Votto hit a little tonight which is good to see but Ludwick, Bruce and Frazier were shit. Frazier is about a once per week guy, Ludwick has been hurt so I'll give him a pass and Bruce is a retard. What did I miss?

I'm not entirely sure how he can be labeled a "retard" when he's second in the team in RBI. Granted, I didn't see the first few innings, but he drew a walk to load the bases and has been more consistent this season than any previous one. His average is around .270 and is 10 RBI from 100 on a team where two people get on base.

Smoke and mirrors. He'll tear it up for a few weeks and then Derp it up for a month. That's why he's labeled retard. Your first trip into the Reds forum?
