Well, I suppose looking at this game in a "glass half full" manner you could say that we did all we could to lose the game, and still miraculously went 13 innings before finally doing so. Looking at what happened: we didn't hit(again), our only run came via a sac fly by the pitcher, our manager made multiple, multiple poor personnel decisions, one of which led directly to the Nationals sending the game into extras and finally we couldn't even advance, let along score a runner from 2nd w/ zero outs in the 12th inning.
To have made it 13 innings by playing remarkably deficient baseball is a feat in and of itself. I say, don't be disappointed in this loss, rather be proud that the Reds were able to battle the Nationals for 13 innings before finally succumbing to the inevitable.
