Unless Phillies meltdown, Reds will have best record after tonight

Reds & Nats tied for the best record. Washington owns the tiebreaker, which I'm assuming is head-to-head record.

I got an email hitting me up for NLCS tickets already. Prices go up to NFL rates just to sit in the nosebleeds. I know I've already guaranteed the Reds' demise by buying first round tickets, but I'll probably buy NLCS tickets too since it'll never actually happen and I'll be refunded. Don't even know yet which games would be at home though, but I know I can't do every game like in the first round. I'll probably target game 5/6, one of which would be the third home game depending on who has home field advantage.

Just a little food for thought before the playoffs.

In the past 2 months, the Reds have won 1 series against a team that currently has a winning record (the sweep vs. the DBacks). In that time they have lost series to the Dodgers, Brewers, Cards, and Phillies (tied the Phillies in another). If they lose this series, then it will be 1-5-1 in series vs. teams with winning records over the last 2 months.

and here I thought the Reds were the only ones with SO problems

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Oakland Athletics have set an American League record for striking out the most in a season.

Chris Carter's strikeout in the second inning Wednesday night at Texas was the team's third of the game and 1,325th this season, one more than the Tampa Bay Rays had in 2007. The A's quickly added to that total when Brandon Moss followed with an inning-ending K.

Oakland already had four strikeouts through two innings, but also had a 5-3 lead at that point against the AL West leaders.

The A's, who have seven games left after Wednesday night, already surpassed their previous strikeout total by more than 100. They had 1,226 in 2008.

I think we should give them Stubbs

Votto's on base percentage is .513 since returning from the DL. Sumbitch is on base over 50% of the time and this team still cant score!

And he just walked, 4 behind the league leader and he missed two months of the season. Ridiculous that he has ZERO fucking protection in this lineup still.
