Reds Tidbits (2012 Season)

I was just looking at Taveras and Patterson's numbers to remind myself how bad they were. They made Drew Stubbs look like a MVP candidate.

Of course while it makes me feel better about Stubbs, it reminds me Dusty will stick with guys you are even worse than Stubbs. So the though he might play Stubbs less is a laughable proposition.

At-a-glance of remaining schedules for teams in the central that have not yet been eliminated (yes, there is still hope Cubs fans, at least until tomorrow). Since the Reds and Nats are in a dog fight for home field, I've included their schedule on the far right. Number at bottom is total games remaining. Little red number by team name is magic number; again, in case of Nats it's Reds number for clinching home field -- not that it'll matter since the Reds will get swept in the NLDS.

BUT.........

Fucksty loves him some speed, so you may only be his no hit/all glove speed threat until someone faster comes along.

Plus I believe Hamilton is black and we all know black guys are built to take the heat better and all that so its an added bonus to run Hamilton out there and leave the soulless ginger on the bench.

at least that's how I see it.

If the Reds win tomorrow and the Cards lose, it will be a 9.5 game lead on September 1st. No team in the history of baseball has lost more than a 9 game lead in September (the record is actually the Red Sox last year with a 9 game lead for the Wild Card on September 1st).

Of course September/October used to have fewer games in the distant past (actually more in recent years), yet still a colossal collapse.

Furcal headed back to St. Louis for MRI. Heard a pop in his right elbow. If there is one spot where St. Louis has zero depth, it's SS. Furcal was not great, but they are looking at playing Descalso at SS.

Descalso will now forget he's David no talent ass clown fucking Descalso until late October.

With Furcal hearing "pop" in his elbow, more and more it's feeling like the Reds will be more rested and ready for playoffs than any team
