So I'm guessing Rolen and Stubbs starts tonight and Fraziers moves over to first base.

Makes sense from a defensive standpoint behind Redmond. Of course, making sense and Duhsty Baker don't always occur in the same sentence.

See. Why? Why burn Chapman at the end of this game when Cueto has been awesome all day long. He's a little over a hundred but they aren't coming close to hurting him. Now what will they do if its a 1 run game tonight and they can't use Chapman? Fucktard!!

The 'Genius' of Duhsty Baker, ladies and gentlemen.

I am soooo glad that Duh-sty brought Chapman in to throw as many pitches as humanly possible and allow the tying run to come to the plate...especially since Cueto was totally struggling and needed to be pulled.

Thank you, Duh-sty for being the brilliant manager that you are. This team would be lost without you.

Cueto was at 107, so if he does go back out there and a runner gets on or someone works a 10 pitch walk, then he's going to be approaching 120 or 130 pitches before Chapman is even warmed up.

If you can win the game, you go for it. The Reds had to win Cueto's start, because nobody has any idea what to expect out of Redmond -- I saw him in Louisville a month ago and he was hit hard (9H, 5ER in 5IP).

Yeah, the nightcap could be a one-run game. Or it could be lopsided for either side. No reason to save the closer for a hypothetical. If Dusty brings in Ondrusek or Arrodondo or somebody and they start walking guys, then he's burned them and Chapman too for the day.

I thought it was the right move.

He handled the lineup about as well as can be expected in game 1... Except bringing on Chapman. I would have saved him for the nightcap. Isn't this what they brought in Broxton for? To take the ball in the 9th when Chapman can't go? What a waste.

"Closers close, man." I know.

I would have rather used Broxton during the day game with a three run lead than possibly being forced to use him in a tighter game tonight.
