Reds Tidbits (2011 Season)

I give credit to Dusty for taking him out perhaps an inning too early rather than an inning too late. It's a close game, and giving the lead back everything Volquez had done in innings 2-6.

Also, props to Volquez for turning it around and pitching up to expectations after a rough first inning. I've been ripping on him bigtime since late last season, so I need to give credit where it's due. I know there are good reasons why the Reds are giving him a long leash and pushing him to the forefront of the pitching staff. I'm just impatient and want to see him start rewarding this team for all they've invested in him.

Nice 7th inning from Jordan Smith. He's a guy who might be able to go two innings. Does Dusty go for it, and does anybody think it's a good idea?
