Reds Tidbits (2011 Season)

I've been looking at it all morning and I now believe we should really make a run at Reyes. With him at the top of the lineup Votto gets more looks with guys on base and Stubbs can relax a bit more towards the 6th or 7th spot in the lineup. That also puts 2 of the 3 top SB guys in our daily lineup. If we start putting more pressure on opposing teams by scoring I really believe our pitching will start to come back around. Its a different mentality when the pitcher is out there trying to get a shutout or hold em to 3 or less runs than it is with a 5 run cushion.

The players to give up is the sticky part. I have no idea what it would take.

I agree. Stubbs in the 6th or 7th spot would help in two ways as well. If he can find his swing again, which I think he will in that spot, it'll put someone on base towards the end of the lineup, which is something that isn't happening much right now as is. What's with Cincinnati's inability to lock down a SS these days?

A very plausible lineup with the right leadership:

SS Reyes
2B Phillips
1B Votto
RF Bruce
3B Rolen
LF Alonso
CF Stubbs
C Hernandez
P WhoGivesAShit

5-6-7 pretty interchangeable depending on how they are hitting.

Heisey, Cairo, Mesoraco, and someone else on the bench.

Dream lineup. DREAM!
