Reds Tidbits (2011 Season)

Well, the Mets just reported they are staring at a $70 million loss this year. So they might be having a fire sale. I'm not a fan of Reyes, but at this point even I have trouble stomaching Janish's 1 for 34 hitting (I stated earlier I can handle a good glove/poor bat SS, but this is getting ridiculous). So it's a thought. Too bad they don't have a single good starting pitcher on their roster.

The problem is, what's it going to take to lure him away from NY?

EDIT: Love the idea BTW.

Last year of his contract, and the Mets are looking to dump cash. If the Reds take the rest of his contract (big if) it may not take much to get him. In the end, the market will determine the price. So I don't really know.

Even bigger question... What big market team swoops in and makes NY an offer it can't refuse?

IIRC, Wood had a perfect game going into the 9th, but not sure if we're talkin about the same game
i think that was the game before. he defintely didn't have a no-no or a perfect game going that night. i just remember him looking pretty weak in the 8th but he got out of it. i look over the railing in the outfield and see Cordero warming up and I just shake my head. it's 7-1 in the 9th. it wasn't a save situation, and your closer sucks dick anyway......why do you have him warming up instead of Rhodes? are you going to keep the kid out there until he gives up enough runs to make it a save situation? because that's just stupid.

and that's exactly what he did. then he trots Rhodes out there to get the L.

edit: just looked it up. it was leake.
