What made me really happy with this result was that you had Carp going tonight in our fantasy playoff. Then Bucholz went and shit the bed against the As so I gave the ERA and WHIP right back to you. Going to wind up being a wash.

Edit: Nevermind. I just checked the Gamecast and see De La Rosa is plunger raping the Diamondbacks tonight with 10Ks through 6IP.

You can't see me right now, but I'm doing a lit'l dance.

FSN/OH is still running the "Look twice for motorcyclists" commercial -- just saw it again on Reds Live. I've always been confused by this commercial, because I figured it was my civic duty to ease into the intersection in front of an oncoming crotch-rocket doing 80mph in the berm.

The three in San Diego are losses, and Houston will not be a walk in the park now. Take 7 of the 12 remaining against the Pirates, Diamondbacks, and Brewers, 2 or 3 against Houston, and hope to count off about 7 or 8 more Cardinals losses to get the 17.

.500 should do it.

That's 90/91 wins and makes the Cards have to win 17/18 of their last 23 without a day off. Cards also have 4 games with SD, 4 @ Colorado plus the rest of the Atlanta series.

They are in a world of shit.

I know Tom Friend isn't a real popular figure around here after the MoC fiasco, but ESPN does have an OTL piece up authored by Friend about Eric Show, on the eve of the 25th Anniversary of #4192.

I was 10 when Pete broke the record. All I ever knew of Eric Show was that he was the pitcher that served up the hit and what I read on the back of his baseball cards. Really sad story.

just got back....first...Homer was awesome tonight (outside of that one bad pitch where the batter looked like he barely swung, guy gots to be juiced :wink:
Chapman was awesome live, i'll post the pic I have of him, and yea, got a pic of the scoreboard, I :lol: pretty hard when I saw that. And now the Ugly...fuck you Cordero....and Votto needs to find the bat again, 3 K's....15 fuckin K's for the entire team, it was pathetic, pretty sure there was a stretch where 5 stragight hitters fanned....

from where I was sitting couldn't tell, but was Rolen's K looking in the bot 9? I think it was, a strike?
