Reds tidbits (2010 season)

Cueto suspended for 7 games and fined. Baker and La Pussy suspended for two and fined. I call bull[censored] on Cueto suspended for 7, really? He was on his ass on the backstop with a herd of people near him or coming at him, I'd be kicking too if I was in the situation, but maybe I'm just biased.

Yeah, I'd say that if you think suspending someone for 7 games for kicking an opponent in the head with cleats is too harsh, then it's safe to say you're biased.

Maybe the Cardinals should have stayed out of kicking range. That's what I do when I don't feel like getting kicked in the head. Cueto should have every right to defend and extricate himself, and I'm glad he had the sense to use something other than his pitching arm/hand to do it.

I didn't even see him land anything on larue and I didn't see any bruises/cuts when they showed larue the next day. If I don't see any damage to larue i would've suspended him for threeish games, not seven.

LaRue looked OK when he was making out with Chrissy Carpenter on the jumbotron.

Well, he is a starting pitcher. A 3 game suspension is the same as not suspending him at all. A 7 game suspension for a starting pitcher is essentially a 3 game suspension. Of course even then it may only cause him to miss one start, and maybe none (depending on how the rotation works out).
