2 rally killers in the same game? He better be running out to RF with a purpose or he risks the ire of the poofy haired one.

Bucky Katt;1473342; said:I wasn't listening at the time, but following his triple, he was thrown out at home on a grounder and didn't even bother to slide. I'm sure that got a couple comments from Marty. Lil' Marthy was riding him on it on the television broadcast for it, although it was justified in this case, IMO.

I suppose they were expecting the Ray Fosse treatment?

It was lame. He could have bowled the catcher over and given him the Fosse treatment, or he could have slid, or he could have made an effort to run around the catcher, or anything else other than what he actually did, which was pull up short and walk across the plate conceding the out. Bruce earned whatever he got from the Reds broadcasters for that one.Jaxbuck;1473358; said:11 total bases in 3AB's and they bitch about not sliding into home.

Dryden;1473442; said:EDIT: What Bruce should have done after he realized he was too far off third to go back and was dead meat was extend the play by getting himself in a run-down so that Rosales could at least move to second.

It is refreshing seeing the team both putting out solid effort and results for a change.
Jaxbuck;1473547; said:WT aside this team has been horrible on the basepaths for the last several years. Multiple managers, different players. You'd think the new emphasis on manufacturing runs would result in smarter base running. Whatever, I'm just glad he didn't get hurt ala Kearns and fat fucking Mitch King a few years back. I still say that screwed his career
Honor&Glory;1473559; said:who? Marty or Jax?
Bucky Katt;1473562; said:Ray King. Kearns was never, ever the same after that.
When it happened, he was batting .309 through 45 games (131 AB) with 8 doubles, 13 homers and 44 RBI, an OBP of .417, SLG of .599, and OPS of 1.015. Scored 30 runs in that time.
After the injury, in 37 games (130 AB), he hit .208 with 3 doubles, 2 homers, and 14 RBI, scoring just 9 runs.
Simply brutal.
Also, I dare say this is the best base-running Reds team I've seen in quite awhile.

Jaxbuck;1473604; said:Wow, you write your own stuff or did you need help with that?
Mitch/ray/cock hole, whatever he goes by. That fat no talent bastard ruined Kearns.

The non Tavaras base stealing numbers are still dreadfull.
