Metal Rules
Those who live around Columbus or like to travel are you going to attend to see a great fireworks show?(Tues July, 3rd). Myself I like to watch it on tv, I hate to deal with the traffic and the heat during the day.

I went a bit when I was younger, last few years I have gotten out of it. I will probably have to go again this year. Although, I found out today that I broke my foot on Friday... Maybe that will get me out of it

Like you I can't stand dealing with all the people and traffic and stuff. Even when I was younger, it was more of a trim hunt than really wanting to be down there.

Same here... I'll check out one of the suburb shows on the 4th though. There was a show at the Hoover Reservoir last night that the wife and I could see (mostly) from our house. :)

We will probably go down to the Maumee river in the cool of the evening and watch the Perrrysburg/Maumee display.
Maybe, ... if the wife forces me too.
She has been known to say stuff like "no see the boom boom , no get any boom boom"

You should try talking to them, instead of just staring and drooling.

To CCI, they are all just images on the computer, or future amateur porn stars.

Personally, I hate the crowds of Red, White and Boom!, or any fireworks display for that matter. I just hate crowds period. Unless I'm at Ohio Stadium.

Living on the East River I get to see all four barges for the NYC display from my roofdeck (and huge party that is really gonna get me in trouble this year, I know it. . .)

About Red White and Boom, and fireworks in general in Columbus: shortly after my move to Boston it was time to celebrate our nation's independence. Yay! So I was standing in the reception area at my office and I politely asked those about what day the fireworks were going to be held on.

My responses were incredulous looks, the occasional blink, and finally a disgusted and confused, "the fourth??"

Okay, I felt stupid. Looking back, does anyone else think that it is silly how some cities just make it any old day? Is the meaning less? Is it just a ticky-tack version of the real thing or is it no big deal, different day, same story?
