Red Nike Mojo Golf Ball

Fact: Consumers are suckers for golf Marketing.
Fact: Nike spends more money on marketing than any other golf company.

Does that mean Nike has crappy products? Not really, but how many companies have claimed to make "the next Pro VI"?

How many consumers blindly believe that the Pro VI is the best ball for them?

Hell if you don't have a 100+ mph club head speed you are not going to see the benefit from a Pro VI. They are solely meant for great ball strikers. Most people would be much better off with an 80 compression golf ball like the Srixon Soft Feel, or Titleist So-Lo.

Get a ball that will compress off the face for you and have the proper spin rate off the face of your clubs. You will see a better trajectory and straighter shots.

I bought a dozen Mojo's after Turd talked about how much he liked them a couple years ago, and promptly had the best 9 holes of my life (42 on par 37). After that they didn't do much for me so it was probably more of me having a great day rather than the ball. I've started using Loco's because they are cheaper and seem to be a pretty good ball for me.
I decided to send back the new irons that I bought (knockoff X-18's). I just can't hit them as well as my old irons. Every once and a while I caught it on the sweet spot and had a good shot, but the sweet spot is way too small for me. The real ones would be better since they have a groove behind the face that the knockoffs don't have, but I'm not going to spend $600+ on a set of irons. Sometime this week I might go to Dicks and try out the new Taylor Made R7 irons and see how those compare, if I don't like those I might get a newer version of knock off Big Bertha's since I know I like those already. Does anyone else know any wide soled really forgiving clubs that I should look at? I would love to find a set of irons that are really forgiving, but don't shoot the ball straight up in the air.

I'd check E-bay, my buddy just got a brand new set of Callaway's that are originally over $700 for $350.

Also, maybe DA-Bucks can point you in the right direction.

Again, I'd get some lessons before I blow a ton of money on clubs.

Like I said earlier, Tiger Woods could probably shoot in the 60's with any of our clubs.

BTW, you played a course that had a par 37 front nine?

Yeah, it's one of the longest 9 holes that I play:

I birdied the 448 yard par 4 6th hole. I've seen par 5's that are shorter than that so it felt more like an eagle. That was the only day that I was able to really hit my driver well.

BTW this is where I got my last set of irons and I don't consider $119 as spending a lot of money on a set of irons. Since I have a problem with too much height on my iron shots I might try getting the 2 iron rather than the SW (I have real wedges anyway) so that I could get some extra distance out of my long irons.

This is one of my favorite balls to hit.

I'm not trying to defend Nike here. But those were my words that it was like the pro-v1. I was saying that because it is going to be a three piece ball similar to the pro-v1.

next time you go to Putt-Putt steal one of their balls. They are just like rubber. I pulled one out a few years ago on a par 5 and hit it. It was green and we lost it soon after it left the tee. While walking toward the green about 400 yards from the tee, we found it a couple paces into the rough. I think it went about 390-400 yards. Clearly not a legal ball, because it goes at least 25 yards further than my regular drive :wink2:
And floats. That should tell you something right there.
