Recruiting Rankings vs. Offers vs. Meatballs

So you're saying osugrad21 has more pull with the current regime?

The Bucks have pulled in 2 great prospects on the defensive side of the ball from NC in 12-13. If GRAD has so much pull where are all the recruits from SC over the last couple of years. Looks like he may be playing too much golf with Spurrier, and not enough time channeling prospects to Urban.

Hypothetically, if Roby and Hyde join Big Hank, we should probably bank some schollies for next year, right?

Would they give some to the preferred walk-ons that have committed for next year?

I guess they don't rank what's between the ears or durability. You can rank their physical gifts and their performance on the field, but that won't be an indicator of the work they will put in once they get to college.

I watched Santonio play in a high school all-star game in South Florida when I lived down there. The degree to which he outshined everyone else on the field was staggering. After watching the game, I couldn't believe that he was ranked so low, which was probably due in part to the fact that he wasn't getting more attention from "the big three" in Florida (which I also couldn't believe). I found myself praying that he would somehow remain under the radar and that JT would somehow miraculously be able to close the deal. Never could have foretold his NFL future, but wasn't surprised in the least with the way his career went. 3 stars. Unbelievable.

Recruiting sites were also pretty terrible back in 2002. Not that they compare to coaching staffs but it is laughable to leave Nick Mangold unranked. It's not like he played for Hill Creek, it's Centerville and he's OSU bound.

I didn't know he was unranked.

If it happened today, at least the sites would say his sister is strong, so maybe via he could be a football player!
