RB/WR Curtis Samuel (Buffalo Bills)

"After watching Curtis Samuel today on defense, it's clear that he has the mentality to play that side of the ball (tough, fast and physical) but evaluating him today in pads in this setting- I certainly feel he can be a big time player on offense at Ohio State and no longer feel like his best spot is on defense. He's potentially special like we thought." JC Shurburtt's take on 247 Live Updates.

Not surprising, Samuel is an offensive player for us, plain and simple. Really hope to see him on the other side of the ball come Saturday.

I really feel they have curtis out of position. The nike opening he was on offense dominating the same players. They need to put him in the slot and let him excel. He's rated higher than most of the receivers on the East for offense why have him as a DB?

Im not trying to come off as insulting, but really who cares where he plays? Its a meaningless all star game. I just don't want him to get injured, and come to cbus in tip top shape, ready to ball

Five-Star Athlete Curtis Samuel Excited to Get Started at Ohio State ...

Some consider Samuel a wide receiver at the next level, but his athleticism actually found him playing defensive back while at the Army All-American Bowl. ... “I'm going to be playing slot and running back,” he recently told The-Ozone. “I'll be learning both positions.”

Listed at 6-foot-0 and 185 pounds, he was the 2013 Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of New York. He was clocked at a 4.36 40-yard dash last summer at Nike's The Opening camp, and is one of the fastest players in the entire 2014 class. Ohio State will look to use that speed on offense as soon as Samuel is ready to show what he can do. ....

An early enrollee, Samuel will be able to participate in spring practices, which should give him a tremendous head start on seeing the field in 2014. He will also get to learn behind Dontre Wilson, who put up nearly 1,000 all-purpose yards this past season as a true freshman.

Enrolling early. So big!!

The thought of Curtis, Dontre, Corey Smith, Mike Thomas and Zeke on the field at the same time is mind blowing. This might be my dream formation. It's nothing more than potential since much of that line up is unproven but, strictly talking potential that could be the sickest line up of offensive weapons I can think of at tOSU. I mean..........seriously people. Starting next year we will fully be in the Urban era offensively and seeing this type of unit trot out on the field will be a lot of fun to witness. I know we will miss the OLine and Carlos but if Brax takes a step to the next level the offense certainly has the potential to improve next year. That's a scary thought. Shave 7-10 points from the defense and add 3-5 points to the offensive output? NC caliber. Call me a homer but I really think we are that close. And getting a guy like Curtis on campus.....EARLY on campus goes a long way to make that a reality.

I like your enthusiasm, but we're not quite NC caliber as team, our defense still needs some work. But our offense will certainly be entertaining, especially in the passing game if Braxton progresses another year. Braxton had 3 (somewhat) reliable pass catchers last year in smith, brown and Heurman, next year he that number increases a lot with Thomas, Marshall, samuel, smith, etc. should be fun to watch Braxton sling the ball around, and hopefully not have to rely on his legs so much. It'll be interesting if we can find a way to get Samuel and Wilson in the game together. Samuel brings just as much to the offense as Wilson if not more
