RB TreVeyon Henderson (Official Thread)

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Archie's first

Only 2 running backs have won the Heisman in this millennium; both from Alabama. It is high time a running back won it again. It is way past time for a BUCKEYE running back to win it. Hell, it's been a quarter of a century since a BIG TEN running back won it.

It was 20 years between Archie II and Eddie. It has been 29 years since Eddie. This 50th anniversary would be a very good time for someone to break the longest Heisman drought for Ohio State (and Big Ten) running backs in the awards history.

Wow. A very strong reminder that we never know what some of our players are going through off the field, and why we don't bash players on here for performance. Not that I saw any of that on Tre here, but that was quite a struggle he was going through. Glad he found his faith and pulled through it stronger. I hope he has all the success in the world moving forward and stays healthy just for him alone.

Not that I have any experience with any of those, but I'd imagine that those are all things he will have to continue to fight for a long time - maybe forever.
One step at a time, Tre. One day at a time.

I only had sleep paralysis a couple of times and it's truly awful, I can't imagine having that be a constant problem. I've had the mental depression issues and understand the constant struggle there even when you think you've got it handled.

Miller (center from GA) was in the same boat and Ryan Day was the best mentor out there that actually cares about his player's health and well being. The whole "be tough" mantra just needs to be replaced for people actually struggling with mental health. Not aimed at you at all, just feel for the kid going through all of that. Tre has been tough and fought through battles we didn't even realize were there. Extremely proud of him to be open about it and be an advocate. It sounds cliché to say check in on your people when they are having issues, but seriously effing do it and hopefully Tre is a great example of someone that beat depression.

But on the on-field side, he's got a lot of help with Judkins now. I feel like that is going to free him up to just go play.
