Interesting that he says that because Bush is exactly who he reminds me of. He has Zeke speed and Dobbins lateral quickness. And from what I’ve read, he will surprise you with his power. Total package.

Same here, first time I watched his film Reggie Bush immediately jumped to mind. Obviously Trey has to go prove it in terms of talent level, but the running style is legit uncannily like Bush.

This year’s Ohio State football team is going to be filled with young talent. From redshirt freshman quarterback C.J. Stroud, to five-star defensive ends Jack Sawyer and J.T. Tuimoloa, to No. 1 wide receiver in the class Emeka Egbuka, the Buckeyes are definitely reloading, not rebuilding. However, the player that I want to focus on today is freshman running back, TreVeyon Henderson. Since it is Broken Records Week here at Land-Grant Holy Land, I am going to predict that he will break J.K. Dobbins’ freshman rushing record of 1,403 yards. Before you freak out, please read the whole article first!

How’d He Get Here
The major offers for TreVeyon Henderson started coming in after his sophomore year, but those schools weren’t looking at him to carry the football. Notre Dame offered him as a cornerback. Clemson offered him as a safety. Tigers’ defensive coordinator Brett Venables told Henderson’s coaches at Hopewell High School that he was the best defensive back prospect they had seen so far in the 2021 class. Henderson was a freshman varsity starter at safety on a state championship team. He only began running the ball here and there as a sophomore. Then as a junior he blew up, rushing for 2,424 yards and 45 touchdowns. He didn’t play as a senior because his school postponed football until this past spring. Before recruiting visits were outlawed, Henderson had an official visit to Michigan. Unfortunately for the Wolverines, that visit never happened. Henderson committed to Ohio State on March 27, 2020 and enrolled this past winter.

Current Situation
It was a crowded running back room this spring for TreVeyon Henderson and Ohio State’s five other scholarship running backs. Despite the limited opportunities, Henderson certainly had his moments and has impressed the right people. The room could be a little less crowded with the possible move of Steele Chambers to linebacker. Henderson has at least three upperclassmen ahead of him in Master Teague, Marcus Crowley, and Miyan Williams, but he showed some unique abilities. They will all hit camp together in a little over a week from now and the competition will be a fun one to watc

FWIW, buckeye scoop reporting he's hitting some big runs nearly every day and that he's really leaving players in awe.

I'll take it...
Them and every other reporter on the beat along with *checks notes* the official team Twitter account in the post immediately prior to this.

I vote not feeding into BuckeyeScoop’s egomania by giving them credit for reporting things that literally everyone else is reporting as well. I’m sure the Scoop is reporting on times that Henderson looked great when no one else was there. :eyeroll:

Five college football freshmen ready to burst onto the scene, make immediate impact in 2021

Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson
The Buckeyes' coaching staff is accumulating just an embarrassment of riches at almost every position on the recruiting trail -- running back not the least among them. Henderson joins a deep running back group led by Master Teague, but he's skilled enough to get carries during the season. The No. 1 running back recruit in the 2021 class has seen his first-team reps increase over the course of camp, and he gives the Buckeyes a weapon out of the backfield and in the return game. Coach Ryan Day is used to splitting carries between his running backs and quarterback, so don't be surprised if Henderson gets his early in the season. From there, all it will take is being the hot hand for his numbers to build.

TreVeyon Henderson thrilled with Ohio State competition: 'I definitely belong here

TreVeyon-Henderson-Spring-2.jpeg

Ohio State has a crowded running back room bloated with talent, but TreVeyon Henderson hardly minds. In fact, he sees the competition as a positive.

After all, he knows he belongs at Ohio State.

Although last year’s leading rusher, Trey Sermon, was selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, junior Master Teague III, the second-leading rusher from 2020, is back and competing for first-team reps. Miyan Williams, who may not have seen the field much last year and had just 64 rushing yards on 10 attempts, is now a redshirt freshman, and figures to play a role in the offense. Four-star freshman Evan Pryor, one of the nation’s top-10 running back recruits according to all outlets, will also join them. So, what can Henderson, a five-star freshman, really expect in his first season?

“I always believe I belong here,” he said Wednesday. “I’m competing against the best players every day, so I love competing. I compete in everything, so I definitely belong here.”
