RB Robert Smith (B1G Freshman of Year, 2x Pro Bowler, All Pro)

Robert Smith is hilarious. He tries to use big words and it often takes him five minutes to complete a sentence. He sounds like a habitual dope smoker. If he's a genius we're all in trouble.
I'd wager his IQ is higher than 99% of the posters on this board. I'd include myself in that 99%.

OBJ - I don't know where you got those numbers (maybe they include receiving yards), but according to the Ohio State official athletic site, Smith's numbers were as follows:

1990: 177 rushes for 1,126 yards
1991: did not play
1992: 147 rushes for 819 yards
career: 324 rushes for 1,945 yards

Smith's average yards per game for his career was 88.4, which ranked third in OSU history behind Archie Griffin (121.5) and Jim Otis (94.1).

Smith's average per carry was 6.00 for his career, which ranked second in OSU history, slightly behind Griffin's 6.04 yards per carry.

I might include you, but I would not include me. I knew one of his old high school classmates from years ago. He said Smith is not as bright as he seems. I'll take NewYorkBuck against Robert Smith. Heck, I'll even give you NJ-Buckeye but since he is a Hoban grad you may not want him. :wink2:

Did Smith ever enter any medical school?

I just think its funny everybody thought he was a doctor and the coaches killed his improvement. He had to go to forced study hall 3 times a week and never went to them at first and thats how all that stuff started. They still played him when others did the samething and got benched. He was not to popular on the team with how he got away with that stuff and others didn't.

I think that RS was one of the first to realize Cooper and Co. weren't the answer. With all the time football takes I'm sure even John Frank used the study table and help the University offerered.

I don't know if the study table was part of his regimen. However, I can tell you for a fact that Frank did all the hard work in the chemical sciences he needed in Pre-Med while at Ohio State.

The fact that he is now on TV instead of actually working an intelligent job or doing something substantial gives credence to your point more than anything.

Smith is also coaching football. In addition he founded, and maintained a guiding interest in, the Robert Smith Foundation, which has a mission financial and moral support for Children's hospitals and cancer research. You might consider that substantial, or at least rewarding.
