RB Miyan “Chop” Williams (Official Thread)

I just wish the media pundits gave our team the same benefit of the doubt when some of our stars are missing. Guarantee if it’s a close game, not one media outlet besides the BigTen network will mention it. I know, I know, injuries happen and every team has them, but when Bama or Clemson, and other top tier teams are missing playmakers, they always bring it up. I’m still pissed that 2 years ago, hardly anything was mentioned when Trey Sermon got injured on the 2nd play from scrimmage, I believe, against Bama. Especially with how good he had been playing recently. Basically, he was our Devonta Smith, the kid from Bama, in that game. Take that kid off Bama’s team, and that game is a lot closer. End of rant, just tired of certain teams getting the pass from the media when they win in narrow fashion due to a playmaker being injured.

Our whole coaching staff downplays availability..Saban downplays them too but leaks(excuses) seem to appear from Bama, Clemson and others more than tOSU. ESPN more sympathetic to southern injuries.

PFF has Miyan as the highest rated running back for the first half of the season

I’m not sure how much stock I put into that though; Stroud is not their highest rated qb

If there is an efficiency rating per carry, then I can put stock into it even though Stroud has to be the highest ranked QB by any measurement. Miyan has done the most with his carries of any RB I have watched this year outside of (and wait for the collective shudder, because I hate saying it)....Corum. Henderson is catching way too much flack for having a pretty good season so far, but I think a lot of that is how good Miyan has played. He really might be our best RB but the good thing is that he and Henderson bring different elements to the table, so both can co-exist in a productive manner and quite frankly, they are helping save each others health at the next level. A two RB system has benefits not only for the team, but also for those players since RBs take such a beating.

I've checked out MGoBlow too much to put any stock in anything that doesn't have Corum as the #1 back in the universe.
Is McWhicheverguyisthequarterback #1 QB on PFF? He better be...

I know stats don't tell the whole story, but they make Ohio State look good comparatively so I'm saying that statistically Chop is doing more with every carry than Corum:

Chop: 64 for 497, 7.8 per carry, long 70, 8 TDs (one every 8 carries)

Corum: 118 for 735, 6.2 per carry, long 50, 11 TDs (one every 10.7 carries)
