RB Maurice Clarett (B1G Freshman of the Year, National Champion)

Well , at least going into this season we can worry about football related issues. Are we going to have a decent ground game this year? How is the o-line going to fare this season? How will Roy Hall produce as the starter?
Zwick or Smith, or both ?

Will the new guys on the D-line produce like we're expecting?

And my favorite; Are we going to have a decent punting game?

Interesting article. My guess would be that the coach in question would be Barry Alvarez....just a guess though.
That was my initial reaction, he is a sleazeball, they tie alabama with ncaa violations in football since 1990

though tiller came to mind to, though it may be that i hate him since he self proclaimed himself the "best coach in the big ten" a few years ago

Tiller is a legend in his own mind, but he's pretty clean. I have it on good authority that no one in the Big Ten like Alvarez, so that would be my first guess. However, with no proof, I won't accuse him of anything.

No doubt about it J4H.......Alvarez is crooked, his assistants were caught snooping in the coaches box before an Illini game, they got suspended....then the shoe incident at a local store....and now hes running the show over there...

Superstars do require closer monitoring than the third-string punter. That might not be fair, but it’s fact.

I think this is allot of crap. There are many so called superstar players out there that don't require close monitoring . MoC's biggest problem was his mouth and how do you control that? What do you do have an employee of the university follow him around and monitor all of what he does? Some players will screw up whoever they are whether it's a walk-on or an Izzy or a MoC, you can't control or regulate it all you can try to do is teach the kids how to stay out of trouble , you can't make them stay out of trouble.

Maurice Clarett

I shudder to even ask this, but curiosity has gotten the best of me.

What's the word on MoC these days? I haven't heard a peep.

Sorry to put this under professional, but I couldn't stand to place it in the other Football Forum.

Thanks in advance.

BB, I haven't heard much of anything current on Maurice. I do a search everyday for news stories containing his name and EVERY day 5 or 6 stories pop up from around the country. All use Maurice as an example of some sort.

Because of the Clarett lawsuit challenging the NFL ... blah, blah, blah ...

Spoiled athletes like Maurice Clarett ... blah, blah, blah ...

Just like Clarett, player X in football (basketball, ice fishing, whatever) wants to leave early ... blah, blah, blah ...

Seriously. A litany of Maurice articles every single day. None of these articles talk specifically about Maurice and what is currently happening with him. Across the country his name is used as example for what is wrong with a multitude of things. It's really a shame and quite depressing.

On another note, THANK YOU for not putting this on the OSU Football Forum. That was a wise and well considered choice on your part. :wink2:

EDIT: grad ...

Totally unrelated, but ... I trust that all is well with you on the health front? I'm hoping that no news has been good news.
