RB Maurice Clarett (B1G Freshman of the Year, National Champion)

For the members who are so young.. that didn't really see what Mo did for us .. you should watch some YouTube clips... He was phenom... still disturbs me that he had such a horrible support system (family and hometown 'friends' / confidants) who gave him horrible advice... because I sure would have loved to seen what might have been for the two addl years he could have played for us

I hope he is a superstar in his new situation...

In the 20 years that I remember watching OSU football I have never seen a freshman at OSU do what Mo did in his one season. He had amazing power and vision. For all the pain that he caused OSU would have never won the NC without him. I'm just happy that I get HDnet so can see him play again tonight. Best of luck Mo.

His vision was, without exaggeration, the best I have ever seen on a RB regardless of his age. I find it funny that the O-line play was better the following year and our running game was so much worse than in 02. He was downright disgusting.

I thought he wanted to go back to school and now he wants to try out for a team in Omaha. He really needs to make a decision and stick to it for once:confused:

I read that the UFL season is only 8 games in 10 weeks. Probably a couple more for a championship. Seems like a good way to pocket some $$$ and he would have plenty of time to attend classes the rest of the year.

Exactly. When you no longer have a scholarship paying for things and no mommy and daddy help, you have to find a way to make things happen. I've just started back to grad school and it took me 6 months to get funds together. Very tough nowadays.

or get signed as FA if he shows well...

Mike Vick blowing up might be the best thing for Mo C in terms of getting a shot in the league. Vick has largely been forgiven for his actions and is playing really good ball. If Maurice can put up some good stats, SHOW DURABILITY, and keep his nose clean I think a team takes a flyer on him.

I think that would be quite the reach for an NFL team at this point....

Case in point: Vick had several years of NFL experience under his belt when he screwed it up. Mo C has 1 college football season. HUGE difference.

I agree. But if a team recognizes his vision is still there and the ability is close, they aren't going to let him get away while he works the rust off. That is my point. If he shows some of his old ability, with a good attitude, he's a steal with a minimum contract before another team scoops him up. It'll take the entire season to show durability and attitude, but I think he has a chance if everything goes well....

It'd be cool to see him show a nice burst and still have the vision and some lateral quickness.

I doubt it. Mo C would have to do something seriously spectacular to get back into the NFL at this point.....
