RB Maurice Clarett (B1G Freshman of the Year, National Champion)

OSU SPORTS;1665593; said:
As long as he keeps it about HIM..and I don't give a crap what he does..just don't bring OSU into the picture...I have a feeling that won't be the case, however. I'm sure his name will surface prior to the Miami game....the media will do a "where are they now" feature on him when they rehash the NC game with the Canes. I'm sure he will make himself available for anybody that wants a sound bite or interview the week of the Miami game.

I guess the only thing to speculate about is whether the interference call or MC's troubled career will be the top story for ESPiN during the week of the game. Look for MC to be on "Outside the Lines"...Things have been "quiet" on the OSU front with the off the field stuff and I hate to see this dredged up again by ESPiN.

If he is released, and Ohio State is on a run, you can expect a few things. First, he is not going to have any success as a motivational speaker and he probably won't be able to get into Canada as a convicted felon on parole to play football. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that his chances at motivational speaking will fall flat.

So, what's left? Chances are it includes slinging dirt at Ohio State to try to get into the news. The real issue concerns whether the press would give him the time of day. I think not, actually, he's shown what he is. Still, I don't want the disruption. I want these kids to enjoy a run that is about them and only them.

ESPiN lives for situations like this...that's what Outside the Lines is all about..credibility never factors into the equation...it's all about Entertainment(the first word in ESPN)...you can expect them to ride that horse into the sunset...IMO..it will be ugly.

Like I said before:

Look for something from Clarett prior to the start of the season and then around bowl time. He can't help himself. His football window is closed and he can't do anything else. I would be stunned if any media types hitched themselves to his wagon, but Tom Friend did it once so maybe he'll do it again.

I suppose he could try and write a book about his life and times at Ohio State because right now, that 4+ months that he played football for Ohio State are all he has to go on.

Makes me sick that he ever set foot on campus.

Isn't he into the Russian mafia for a bunch of coin or something like that? Something tells me MoC will be looking over his shoulder a bit too much to be trying to get his face in the news...

Or is it the Israeli mafia? There was some international shadiness regarding a house in Malibu, as far as I remember...

According to ESPN, MoC's lawyer claimed that Hai Waknine, a member of an Israeli crime group, gave MoC cash, a Beamer, and use of a place in Malibu during the summer of 2004. The guy apparently assumed he'd get paid back after MoC went pro.

It's been six years? I'm sure all is forgiven by now. Those 'crime group' guys have a short memory.

I really don't want this guy putting his face in the news while Ohio State is chasing a NC this year. Clearly, his request suggests that he still doesn't understand that it all isn't about him. I hope that he is not released.

Yes, how dare this man want to get out of prison to ruin our fans enjoyment of a sports season? :roll2:

I would be beyond shocked if he is slinging mud at tOSU and I will eat my tie if there is a negative thing uttered by MoC about the vest. I believe he genuinely takes responsibility for his missteps in life and holds tress in the highest esteem. He seems astoundingly more mature now than he was back in those days.
