RB Legend Bey (Official Thread)

Exactly. The blueprint is right there in #4, who by all accounts does everything the right way and was a difference maker from day 1.
So the standard is the best college football player to ever play for Ohio State outside of maybe Orlando Pace and Archie.

That’s a pretty high bar.

Maybe he’s not good enough? That’d be better than him being good enough. The point being, if he really is what they say he is then the coaches need to figure it out because not playing a top play maker only hurts the team.

but maybe he’s not as good as they say? Who knows, but then maybe don’t say we have Tyreke Hill 2.0 if you don’t want questions.

Coaches job to get kids ready. So whether that’s ball security, decision making, learning the playbook, etc. they need to figure it out if he’s really that good (again, maybe he’s not but then just say it) because the offense needs someone else to step up to take pressure off #4.

It’s nice having a consistent run game but that explosive threat is still missing.

I’ll jump in to try to explain. Two things can be true.

1) He is THAT good.

And

2) He is not doing what the coaches have asked in order to earn the playing time and show his talent.

Coaches can’t stop him from being late or taking lazy practice reps or posting dumb social media things or any other off-field immaturity things he may have going on.*

*that is speculation and random examples. I have no insight - the kid isn’t breaking laws but Day has clearly challenged him to PRACTICE better.

I want the offense to find another spark. I’m rooting for him to get on the field bad. I think Bey is going to be special (here or elsewhere)…but there’s a team culture and expectation of earning things the hard way. That hasn’t happened.
