RB Lamar "Bo" Jackson (Official Thread)

Good work, Lydell.

I'm not sure I'd want him to try to run through a doorway in a burning house carrying my grandmother/puppy/child/etc., though. "Come on, Lydell, the doorway is open, but the roof is about to collapse! You can make it." BAM [Sound of Lydell missing the hole and running into door jam]

Just kidding, this time. Tampa is lucky to have him down there.

I may have to search the BP archives, but I remember cracking myself up writing about Lydell trying to rush in to put out a fire, running into the door frame, knocking himself out and the building burning down.
The first post was from Lydell’s thread in 2007.

There's some recency bias at play with MoC comparisons. If he'd played three seasons, he'd be our #2 behind Archie. BJ2 notched 108 and 109 in consecutive games as a freshman against Grambling and OU. That's fantastic and we definitely need it, but he's not anywhere near MoC: 175 yds and 3 TDs against Texas Tech in the opener and set up two more that even Lydell Ross could manage to punch in and then 230 yds and 2 TDs against Washington State.
I remember being in the stadium chanting Maurices name, like we used to chant Eddies - it was awesome - so not arguing against your point - Mo *was* different and they aren't the same style but Mo did have 52 carries in those two games Bo has had 18 in these two games.

Mo averaged 8.3 and 7.4 yards per carry in thoss games. Bo is averaging 12.0 and 12.1.

I'm not saying Bo is Mo, but something about him reminds me of him I must admit.

MoC is one of my favorite Buckeyes of all time. But he had 21car against Texas Tech. Bo had 9car/ea against Grambling and OU and got over 100yds in each. I could easily say that if Bo was the sole RB and got 20+ carries he also could've gotten 175yds and multiples TDs in each game. No recency bias from me. And that's why I said MoC Lite. Would MoC have those same stats sharing the ball with 2 other RBs, I don't think anyone could. Bo has been the 2nd and 3rd string RB and outgained every other RB in the room. MoC had the room to his self.

Didn't see that I echoed @knuckifyoubuck sentiments, LOL.

My post wasn't specifically directed toward or in response to yours and yours was admittedly tempered relative to others' MoC comparisons I've seen since last weekend. However, in reply I don't think we can extrapolate MoC yardage and TD numbers just by adding carries against a better level of competition. Maybe against Grambling and OU, sure, but would BJ2 perform at that level against TT and WSU? Obviously, that's hypothetical, but we'll know soon enough in the conference schedule. I hope he does, but I'd also like to see 15 carries with at least CJD still getting decent reps.
