JJ Huddle lists him as being on the 2006 north south classic teams. He is from Rock hill High school in Ironton. We have someone in here from Ironton don't we?

. OSU freshman running back shares faith with students
December 21, 2006 ?? 657 words ?? ID: hnt16760423
By BILLY BRUCE The Lawrence Herald PEDRO -- "Jesus Christ is the reason I'm where I am today. I'm a Christian football player, not a football player who believes in Christ." With that quote, Ohio State Buckeyes walk-on freshman running back K.C. Christian arose carrying a flat football to speak to a cafeteria full of students at the Rock Hill Middle School. He said earlier that this was the first time he had ever been the featured speaker

^^^^^^Big fan of this guy already...I would love to see him do well. You can tell he is very well grounded in his faith and has a great mindset that he shares with others. Looking forward to seeing him carry the rock Saturday.

Could we be looking at another Terry Glenn type situation. The guys size and speed are definitely impressive, yet he still has the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield and make plays. Can he block? Hopefully we will learn more on Saturday but thus far I am impressed with K.C.

Today was the first I had heard of him... hard runner, needs to work on his blocking assignments (what freshman doesn't)...

He ran through a couple of tackles... for a walk-on young pup, I was impressed today... If nothing else, he should be good on the scout team, and could be used in the kickoff return game if he has good hands (and learns to block at the position)...

Nothing like a good Cinderella story going into the fall season. Hopefully he will join some freshmen as pleasant surprises for the '07 season.
Go Bucks!
there are probably too many young schollies ahead of him for him to get many carries come fall. Beanie will be back and Saine. Gantz looked like a bruiser today (from Ironton I think). the irony is that Christian is from a small school near Ironton.

Gantz is from Wooster. I believe you're thinking of Marcus Williams, was actually on special units for a couple games.

Thanks. I saw Williams in the game too on Scarlet side. 22 yards on 5 carries

K.C. talks about his dream of playing at tOSU. He got 1 yard on his carry against Nothwestern.

scout

The Power Of The Pen Most people would not consider themselves lucky to be buried at the bottom of the depth chart while also not on scholarship. K.C. Christian is, and he has a letter to thank for his current situation.

A redshirt freshman, the walk-on running back for the Buckeyes had always dreamed of coming to OSU. As a result, he wrote a letter to head coach Jim Tressel pleading his case.

?When I was in high school I wrote Coach Tressel a letter saying, ?I am going to play football for you.? I said, ?I?m not the biggest guy, the fastest guy, but I?ll work hard and give you everything I?ve got. I?m smart and I know how to play the game.? ?

From there, the 6-0, 195-pound graduate of Kitts Hill (Ohio) Rock Hill said he got a letter from the recruiting office asking for a highlight film. Now, nearly two years later, Christian got a carry against Northwestern in week four, gaining one yard.

?For me personally it was something I?ve always wanted to do,? he said.

?Growing up in the state of Ohio, you want to play for Ohio State. It?s what kids do in Ohio. I had offers to D-III small schools and had some even tell me I?d be a starter right away, but I didn?t want that. I wanted to come here and experience this and play for Coach Tressel.?

JMO but I get the feeling that this kid would be just as happy if he didn't get to carry the ball in a real game. He just wanted to play at tOSU.
It doesn't get any better than when someone is happy just being at Ohio State.
I am so glad that he and the other walk ons get into a game. They are OUR "Rudy's",and I am so proud of them all.
:oh:
