RB Jaamal Berry (Transfer to Murray State)

I would be interested to see if Berry could play slot receiver. Get him in space and :yow1:

Our backs will get the ball in space plenty on checkdowns. Jordan Hall got the ball on swing passes at least 3 times yesterday. I love that. Jordan and Jaamal both have explosive moves and I think our offense is going to have a lot of options this year even though or receiving depth is still sort of a question mark. And don't forget about Saine catching the ball out of the backfield. Seriously, Tressel has to be giddy about all the options he has coming out of the backfield to catch the ball. Great guys to help Terrelle out!

From what I've heard, once JB sees the field against on Thursday night against the Thundering Herd, Buckeye Nation is going to be calling for him to start. A real star, just had some bad breaks lately with injuries.

No homo (aha), but I fell in love with this dude during his recruitment. Just amazing speed and cutting ability. And he can do it all. He is not afraid to run between the tackles and he either bounces off guys or shakes them. He's going to be a great one....butttttt I think Saine is gonna have something to say bout him starting. I definitely agree that people will be calling for him to get a lot of touches this year though. Electric player.

You have Boom and Saine that should get the bulk of the carries. Hall got substantial playing time last year w/ all the injuries and with his knowledge of the offense increasing, his explosiveness in the hole and showing the ability to move the pile, he gets carries ahead of Berry IMO just based on playing experience. And then you look @ Hyde, being the bigger back, who will also probably get some short yardage carries this fall as well.

Sorry dude, only around 40 carries a game and one ball to go around. Berry can't stay healthy enough to get any reps in practice w/ those guys let alone game carries. You figure TP is going to eat into that total, everyone is expecting to see a more wide open offense (I'll believe it when I see it) so that will further decrease the total amount of carries by the backs per game. And you know if Boom and Saine stay healthy, Tress will ride the upper classmen to yet another Big10 title and hopefully another Nat'l Title appearance. I'm not seeing more than 30 touches for Berry for the entire 2010 season. 2011 will be Berry's year.

Go Bucks!!!!!

Hope so. However, I've heard different word. I heard Hall is head and shoulders above and Berry has been a disappointment thus far. Flashes but nothing consistent.

Hopefully there is a truthful median in our news and Jaamal ends up with an exceptional, productive career.

Welll....I mean he produced in the jersey scrimmage, so he can't be doing too poorly.

Hall is awesome. That vision he has is special. Didn't fair too well yesterday though but I already know what he is capable of.

So, in a nutshell, you agree?

Jersey scrimmage...flashes. Consistency...not seen.

I think once his injuries are under control, we'll be able to get a real read on him. The good news I've heard about Jaamal coincides with the time frame in which his health was 100 percent. This is a guy that the coaches were considering burning his redshirt at the end of last year. I still think he is a special talent. That said, this year will be a crucial year at telling whether or not he will produce for us in the future.
Just to be clear, I don't think JBerry should even be close to starting, even if he produces great numbers. I was just saying that a lot of fans will be saying he should start because thats how fan bases operate. I swear to God I heard people seriously saying at the Spring Game that Kenny should start over Pryor. That's just the sports world we live in.

Yea definitely. I haven't been lucky enough to hear anything good or bad about him so I just go by what I read, and then what I've seen. I saw him on film and was blown away and then heard about his jersey scrimmage. Kid has a special talent with the football in his hands. The injury bug seems to be biting him which could explain a lot of the issues that may be coming up early on here.
