Ezekiel Elliott celebrates record TD with leap into Salvation Army kettle

Ezekiel Elliott won’t soon forget his franchise-record setting 13th rushing touchdown of his rookie season.

Neither will anybody else given how much it will be replayed in the future.

The Dallas Cowboys running back celebrated by jumping into one of the oversized Salvation Army red kettles in the end zone, quickly hiding from everybody before popping out. After conferring, the officials threw a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct, so Elliott couldn’t hide that much.

The leap earned Elliott an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, but you know what – some of those are worth it. Besides, pops already promised to take care of any fine coming from the incident.

Elliott isn't the first Cowboy to involve a red kettle in his touchdown celebrating. Former Dallas receiver Terrell Owens dropped his touchdown ball in a kettle during the Cowboys' 2006 game - also against the Buccaneers. And the NFC East kettle history goes further: Eagles receiver Reggie Brown left a generous donation when he fell into the Salvation Army kettle after an incompletion in the second quarter of a Dec. 2007 game.
