RB Ezekiel Elliott (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Pro Bowl, All Pro, Dallas Cowboys)

The leap earned Elliott an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, but you know what – some of those are worth it. Besides, pops already promised to take care of any fine coming from the incident.

Salvation Army Tweet:

The in-game kettle celebration

View attachment 14680

Elliott isn't the first Cowboy to involve a red kettle in his touchdown celebrating. Former Dallas receiver Terrell Owens dropped his touchdown ball in a kettle during the Cowboys' 2006 game - also against the Buccaneers. And the NFC East kettle history goes further: Eagles receiver Reggie Brown left a generous donation when he fell into the Salvation Army kettle after an incompletion in the second quarter of a Dec. 2007 game.

Fucking Texas. The kid's been there for a just a few months and he's already training to be a rodeo clown when he's done with football.

Zeke was rightfully so called out for the BS statement.. basically saying if this was true Zeke would have returned for his Sr season.. which I tend to agree... Zeke shoulda kept his mouth shut.. Now I know he's talking about the bowl games but making a statement like that is inviting people to call you out for NOT coming back for your Sr year... regardless if it was a good idea or not.

Quitting on your team before it's last game is nothing like forgoing your senior year to enter the draft. Yes, he could have suited up another 12 to 14 more times had he come back, but he didn't quit on his team like McCafrey. I'll give Fournette a little slack because he's been injured pretty much all year.

Salvation Army donations up 61% after Cowboy Elliott jumps in red kettle

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott's kettle-jump stunt is paying off — at least for the Salvation Army.

The nonprofit organization said it has seen a 61 percent increase in donations after Sunday night's game, when Elliott jumped into an oversized Salvation Army kettle to celebrate his 13th rushing touchdown of his rookie season during the Cowboys' 26-20 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"We've seen an $80,000 increase in digital donations since the touchdown versus this time last week," the Salvation Army's Lt. Col. Ron Busroe told CNBC. That brings the total raised in 24 hours to $180,971. Many of the donations are coming in the form of $21 — Elliott's jersey number.

Was this stunt planned or spontaneous?

"We had no indication whatsoever anything like that was going to happen," Busroe said. "We were very surprised and pleased."

It's been a while since I've had this much fun rooting for the Cowboys. Thanks, Zeke. :gagnam:

He's good TV for sure. He's been good for the Cowboys, he has clearly been good for the Salvation Army, he's been awesome for us... that No Fun League is better for him being a part of their organization too... and thankfully, it appears, they've figured that out.

This... he said "one more time", not 12-16 more times. And those guys aren't going top-5, so it's not the same either way. And every year is its own team. As always, good for Zeke for doing it right.

How can you not see the difference between quitting on your team in-season and forgoing your final season? They're not remotely the same thing

So I have to apologize for my rant. I did not see Zeke's full quote

He clearly states he was talking about a bowl game. so I got bit in the ass by just reading the headlines of folks without reading the full quote. I'm not on board with him making the comment but I also still don't have any issue with guys sitting out lesser bowl games.
