Could be an X factor on offense. He is a great wrinkle at the FB position, and he can also be a very good RB in rotation with Henderson and Williams.

I saw him a number of times at Hoban... He was wow on offense but he was lights out D... I swear the coach didn't give him a position on D... always got the impression the coach just said "go find whoever has the ball and stop him"... Chip was everywhere.. rushing as a linemen, sideline to sideline as a LB or defending passes like a DB...
He only made All-State 1st team as a RB one year, the next year he made All-Ohio 1st team as a LB.. He made it easy for the judges, could have put him in any of the 1st team positions

I love how he runs the football. He is decisive, powerful, and damn fast.
At FB, I can't wait until he learns how to block. Going your whole life as a RB programmed to avoid tacklers usually means a tough transition to seeking out defenders. I saw a lot of willingness to block, but his technique has a ways to go yet. (Stopping feet on contact, not keeping a wide base)
I'm really excited that the staff found a way to involve him. Like Sonny Styles, he needs to play, there just aren't many guys his size that can do what he does.

Yes, his given name is DeaMonte. But “Chip” is what he has been called for many years.
“I was just given the nickname ‘Blue Chip’ when I was like 8 years old and over the years it just shortended down to ‘Chip,’” Trayanum said. “And I just rolled with it. Stuck with it. Kept that chip on my shoulder. Football hasn’t been the journey that I expected, but that’s life in general, so I just keep that chip on my shoulder and play hard every snap, every game.”

I, too, love what Chip brings to the table. Size, strength, speed, vision, versatility, decisiveness, and the ability to catch out of the backfield. He's the real deal.

I just said Henderson is getting hosed on play calls, and I believe that. But Chip is decisive and fast. Can't argue him getting more carries. Plus he's an ultimate team player. I see why the staff gave him the nod against ttun...he has IT.
