RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

His time will come. Right now, with the personnel assembled, they need to keep doing what they are doing. They are deadly when they protect Warner, and Whisenhunt is a great playcaller.

However, Kurt won't be around forever and Boldin will be gone soon. The running game will take a more prominent role when Warner is finished, because I imagine his replacement won't be nearly as talented/intelligent.

Part of Beanie's problems is he splits carries with Hightower. You give him a huge chunk of Hightowers carries (Hightower can be a 3rd down back) and I think he would be much more effective. The way he's shuttled in and out doesn't allow him to get into any kind of groove. Seems it would be better to have a whole series with him in versus a play here then two plays here type substitution they've been doing. It would help hide some of the 'tells' for the D they were mentioning earlier in the year

He's got to significantly get better with blocking if this were to happen. With time I think its going to happen.

Beanie's a rookie and he's already sharing right around half the carries. Trust me Beanie will be the starter and the guy who gets the bulk of the carries soon. I really hate the way they have Beanie standing in the backfield. He's squatted down like a freakin linebacker instead of upright with a slight forward lean. IMO, it really makes him slow down, but then again maybe thats why they have him doing it?

One things for sure I truely feel Beanie can be a top 5 back within the next 5 years. The only back with his blend of size, speed, and strength is Peterson and Stephen Jackon.

Little off topic but I think this is almost what's happening with terrelle pryor. It's hard to believe that a kid with as much talent as TP could be struggling as much as he does (not a whole lot but more than expected). If you keep switching the offensive identity how do you expect him to get into a "groove." Same with letting him do more. I could care less if we ended up losing 2 more games this year (not mich though. Do whatever it takes to win that game) if it meant that we let terrelle develop more instead of holding him back and bailing him out with the D and running game and then expect him to come up big when we need him. And for those who don't like developing him (not just him but the whole offense so it can become balanced and develop all the talent it has in the passing attack) and possibly lose 1 or 2 games because of it, I've never heard of a NCAA team these days led by sophmores expected to win the NC. (especially a soph QB) Developing the team could be better off in the long run. I could be wrong though. We do have all spring to get the passing game together but next year is the year for us.
