RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

1100 with 19 TD's. Every team is going to load the box. Beanie is going to need the QB or Wideouts to step up early or will not even break 1000 yards in my opinion. I think Tressel even hinted at that while on ESPN. One dimensional offenses do not work.

A million yards would be hard for anyone to reach :tongue2:

It will all come down to the OL. We'll have enough of a passing attack to keep the defenses somewhat honest, so the question will be how well the OL will run-block. If they're even decent, Beanie will definitely get his 1000+ and 12-15 TDs. If they're really good, Beanie wil get 1200+ and 15+TDs. If they're excellent, we could be looking at 1500+ yards and 20 TDs...

12 games*18 carries per game*5.5 yards per carry = 1188 yards

I think he gets 16 touchdowns though.

I have a feeling my carries per game estimate might be low and that my YPC estimate might be high.

You think he'll only get 18 CPG? I wouldn't much drop off in YPC, maybe a shade less, but I think he'll average 2-4 more CPG (conservatively). So maybe another 200 yards, give or take?

Of course, the fan in me thinks that our line will be awesome this year (esp to the left) and Tank Whaley and D. Johnson are going to open up holes with HUGE lead blocks, and no one in the defensive backfield will be able to tackle Beanie solo, and Beanie will be so unstoppable that they will give him 25+ carries a game, and he will break a handful of those into large gains ... so....x 12 games...plus the BCS title game... 2,000+ yards?
:oh:

Everyteam will not load the box.. this is ohio state, not mount vernon. we're going to have a decent passing game, which may turn out to be a damn good one if boeckman is the man, or if the running game is good enough to open the passing game up. but worst case scenario, our passing game is better than 2002. Our running game may not be quite as good as Clarett, but with a solid 1-2 punch (Beanie Mowells, Beanie Saine) and with what appears to be a very solid o-line, we're going to be just fine on offense. Defense we will straight up shut people down.

My prediction, Beanie gets 1400 yards and 18+ TDs.. alot of goal line touches for the big man. If he can hold onto the ball (damn his big forearms )

I have to agree with"Mili" in this thread. The O/L has to step up. We are pretty strong there still but have to shake off the effects afte the Florida game for them. Jon Petersen will have to make the O-line more effective
now that Pittman is no longer gonna be back there. Beanie will have to come up with some extra moves of his own. I think he can do it.

How did Pittman make the o-line effective last year?
