RB Carlos "El Guapo" Hyde (Official Thread)

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Hyde declares for the draft after this season. What else does he need to prove?

His stock isn't going to go up anymore next season, and he's going to be sharing carries with Miller, Smith, Dunn, Hall, and possibly Marshall, Elliot. With his supposed straight line speed in off season workouts being impressive, I think he'd really raise his stock at the combine / etc. He's the prototypical NFL back. You only have so many carries in you... if I was him, I'd be thinking long and hard about the NFL, and I know he will be.

He sort of came out of nowhere of course, but there's no doubt that NFL scouts know all about him and his abilities at this point.

They know he's good, but a 1000 yd season would only raise his stock (since it's going to be hard to get that this season)

Doesn't change the statistic. He only gets credited for number of yards divided by the number of games he's played.

He left the UCF game in the first half so it counted as a game but he only had 27 yards. If he plays a whole game you his average may be 10-15 yards per game higher.

He needs the ball more. I think when Hyde runs the ball over 20+ times it makes Braxton more effective, because once they think Hyde has it running up the middle that's when Braxton is hitting the 20-30 yarders. Today all I saw was Braxton left/Braxton Right and while he needs his touches too a team has to atleast respect the other running threat. Especially one as tough as Hyde.

Yep, Hyde should be used to set up Miller. Not vice versa.

Agreed, he was way more productive than Miller, he should have had most of the touches.

Great postgame interview on ABC6.

Carlos happy to be 11-0, not happy with lack of power runs vs Wisconsin. Reporter says, "Coach Meyer agrees with you." Carlos had a wry little smirk for that one.

He's going to need a monster game against Michigan to break 1000 yards.

He needs to be our Biakabatuka

He will need 263 yards.

It's rough to be a 1000 yard rusher when you miss the games he did due to the knee injury. Next year if he gets the carries (and he probably won't) and stays healthy he could be a 2000 yard rusher.

Oh Agreed, but after seeing Minnesota and Iowa, I'm hoping the gameplan calls for numerous touches by Hyde instead of Miller
