Former OSU star shares life lessons
By Jill Gosche, [email protected] POSTED: April 3, 2008 Save |

A former Ohio State University football player instructed people to draw a heart on sheets of paper and crumple the sheets. Then, he told them to try to flatten out the wrinkles.

?Can?t get ?em out, can you?? he asked.

Calvin Murray, director of Franklin County Crossroads, said the same thing happens when people belittle others.

?You can ask for forgiveness, but you can?t erase that scar,? he said.

Murray was the football team?s co-captain and most valuable player. He also played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears, and holds the record for the longest touchdown pass reception at OSU, according information from Columbian High School.

Cal is one of the better backs we've ever had here that hasn't gotten the "love" as years have gone by. Cal had great speed but played a much "bigger" game than his actual size. He hit the hole hard and was a bitch in the open field and never minded running you over. I remember back many moons ago when Coach Bruce actually put highly touted (and deservedly so) Tim Spencer in as a fullback in the offense just to have these two great backs on the field at the same time.

Good to see Cal doing well and spreading good words to others.

Peace.
