RB Antonio Pittman (Official Thread)

The interesting thing about Pitt. is that he played tough all season and put together VERY VERY solid games. I think this year he will have some games where he really blows up and gets well over 100 yds., but unless he does this in the first 3 quarters or if we have a big lead he will be pulled so other RB's can get some experience. Tressel does not want an injury either, so leaving him out there beyond his need, is only running that risk.

I think we all know he is more than capable of being one of the premiere backs in the country, lets just hope he puts up some monster numbers so we can have 3 of the top 5 Heisman hopefuls.

As for Pittman, no one is wearing "Pitt is It" buttons around Columbus. Fans want to lump him in with former OSU backs Pepe Pearson, Raymont Harris and Jonathan Wells -- serviceable if unspectacular.

Ummmm, nobody with any common sense is. Sure, we are curious about Beanie's abilities, but I haven't heard anyone with half a brain say he should start ahead of Pittman.

I've heard plenty of people say it, mostly on Bucknuts, but it's questionable whether they have half a brain.

I think Pitt is going to be great, not just serviceable. He's got breakaway speed, a frame that could gain another few pounds without losing much speed, and incredible balance and power for his size.

He seemd to do ok against the vaunted texas defense too.

Collegefootballnews has Antonio Pittman listed as the 162 best player in the nation.

http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2006/Preview/Top200Players_51_200.htm

A little low don't you think?

Honestly, I wouldn't trade Pittman for 146. RB Lynell Hamilton, 136. RB Robert Hubbard, 125. RB Thomas Brown, 100. RB Ahmad Bradshaw, 94. RB Ken Darby, 91. RB Arian Foster, 89. RB James Davis, 88. RB Yvenson Bernard, 86. RB Rafael Little, 74. RB Darren McFadden, especially 67. RB Darius Walker, even more especially 64. RB Mike Hart, or 56. RB Albert Young.

Hell, I wouldn't trade Pittman for Reggie Bush. Pittman is our back. The Ohio State University back should be getting some more love from the media and us. Come on... Iowa's Albert "I rushed for 1,334" Young should not be 106 spots above Pittman's 1,331!

PITTMAN is GOOD. Damn good.

Aside from Walker, Hart, and Young, I've never even heard of those other yayhoos...
