RB Antonio Pittman (Official Thread)

EDIT: Oh btw, running out of bounds wasn't smart, he stopped the clock. Sliding down in bounds would have been smart. Freshman mistake, and not a major one in this game, but I'll bet he's been told about it.
It's still not as bad as the freshman mistake made by one of our junior RB's last year in the bowl game.

as bucknutty said.....pittman dinged his right leg on the play before he broke it down the sideline...he actually put his hand up to come out of the game...but was left in.....

thats why he took it out of bounds....smart move by the kid...its a long season...real smart move....
I thought I saw him acting funny in the huddle after the run before the long one where he went out of bounds - don't remember him putting his hand up, but he had a look of mild concern on his face... I figured he had pulled a muscle or something.. I don't remember if it was Cooper or the other guy, but when Pittman ran out of bounds they lambasted him.. said "If the kid is going to get more playing time, he'd better lower that shoulder instead of running out of bounds."

I too think it was a smart move considering... I'd rather have Pittman healthy for Michigan than put his shoulder down for 5 more yards in a game that's all but over.

word is that pittman hurt his leg last week during practice when i stumble back on the link ill throw it in here, as for pittman starting by game 5, keep in mind he came into the game late and that was when he was productive. this is a way to give players who are not as physical a balancing effect, think frasier early in his career. he was more productive as a 3rd qtr man his soph year than he was as s full time player, i do not expect to see pittman start anytime soon (even though im not a big lydell fan) as long as lydell produces, i think that they offer a good change of speed, the same way troy does for jz, i think of the old bama teams that used to wholesale the whole 1st team for a series or two after the 3rd series of each half

not the article i saw earlier but heres an update

Pittman running , Joe not

OSU freshman tailback Antonio Pittman left the seasonopening win over Cincinnati with 66 yards on seven carries and a thigh bruise that slowed him earlier this week, Tressel said. But Pittman was back to full go in practice yesterday.

Such was not the case for senior fullback Branden Joe. Less than four weeks removed from a high-ankle sprain — a twist of the two bones in the lower right leg — Joe was forced to miss the Cincinnati game and likely will be held out Saturday.

"I’m still going to say Branden Joe is doubtful," Tressel said after practice yesterday.

RB Antonio Pittman (official thread)

Where are theses guys? I know Pittman had a quad injury but what is the extent? Will Childress be back for the scUM game? I think he is extreamly vital especially when matched up against a 4th string wide reciever. Usually Holmes and now Ginn will probably be covered by the other teams top guys. When will he be back?
