That is a runway on a former Swedish Air Force base.

The timber is from the damage caused by Hurricane Gudrun back in '05. At the time were staying at the cabin Anna's family & I built, ending up trapped for a several days.

No power + no cell service + blocked roads during dark Scandinavian winters gets pretty cold.

Some of these pics reminds me of my drive up and down the southern Italy highways... and I'd look over at gorgeous picturesque intensely sloped Rocky-mountain-like ridges.. and there would be old forts from the Norman empire days... I can't see how you would build these forts with TODAYS tools and technology.. let alone how in the hell they did that 500 years ago...

Can't understand how a human on foot got up there.. let alone build a fort

An angle of Neuschwanstein Castle that you typically don't see. I've always presumed it was surrounded by mountains. I didn't realize it had plains nearby.
