QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Terrelle Pryor impressive, Johnny Manziel up and down: Cleveland Browns training camp quick-hitters

...

* Pryor (6-4, 233) looked huge, especially in comparison to some of the smaller receivers on the team such as Taylor Gabriel, Andrew Hawkins and Glenville's Shane Wynn. Pryor fit right in during position drills, and caught one pass from Connor Shaw in 7-on-7s and another intermediate out-route from Thad Lewis in 11-on-11s.

* Pettine said of Pryor: "He looks great in a uniform. Big, explosive athlete. Good start for Terrelle.''

* Pryor felt good about his camp debut and what he brings to the table: "I'm big. I don't think a lot of guys can run with me. My hands won't be a problem.'

* Joe Haden gave Pryor good reviews: "He looks the part for sure. He killed the whole conditioning test. He's huge. He's fast. It looks like it can work.''

* Haden agreed with the notion that Pryor can make it here against these defensive backs, "he can make it out there on Sunday.''

In the comments:

Up: Johnny walked in sober and on-time.

Down: That doesn't make you good at football.

I hope Pryor can make the cut. It will be interesting seeing him as a WR. He makes a pretty big target.

Very excited. Going to snag Pryor for sure in fantasy this year in at least one league.

I still think we will see him throw for a TD this year, might be as a trick play.

Would make for a fun season to see Terrelle and Braxton both play the wildcat some.

The next couple days are going to be big for TP. If he can continue to impress with the pads on I like his chances. Another big key will be if he can play ST. I don't know if he can be a gunner, but maybe the guy who covers the gunner. That stiff arm could put a gunner on his ass.s

One thing I read yesterday was the Browns WR's are all either big slow guys or small fast guys. TP is the only big fast guy. If Mayle's thumb isn't 100% it might be worth putting him on the half season IR to give TP a spot. If he impresses in the first half of the season then they can make room elsewhere or see if they can get Mayle on the practice squad.

The Cleveland Browns camp has been underway for a few days now, but today is a special day for the confluence of Ohio State football fans and Cleveland Browns fans. Jim Tressel was in attendance at the Browns camp in Berea to watch his former quarterback reinvent himself as an NFL wide receiver.

He even dropped a little nugget about his first game coaching Cris Carter as well in discussing Pryor's transition.

I still believe it.

The only man who can win a Super Bowl with the Cleveland Browns is Jim Tressel.

You said 'Super Bowl' and 'Browns' in the same sentence. You better be careful VG, or people might start thinking you're crazy...

Seriously though, JT would win every cold weather game in Cleveland with his philosophy. But I never thought he had any interest in the Pros. He likes dealing with college kids. That's his life.
